Software and Model to Ensure the Security and Integrity of Gas Pipelines

11-Jan-2017. UAB “Elsis TS” signed an agreement with AB “Amber Grid” regarding the purchase of services to install the software and the model to ensure the security and integrity of gas pipelines.

The goal of the project is to increase the security and reliability of the natural gas transmission system by installing advanced software of the information system for risk assessment as well as operation and maintenance optimisation of main pipelines (Pipeline Integrity Management (PIMS)), which will allow using the natural gas transmission system in a safer and more efficient manner.

During the implementation of the agreement, the software of the information system for risk assessment as well as operation and maintenance optimisation of main pipelines (PIM IS), licences, and software installation services will be provided. In addition, methodologies, procedures, and rules of the information system for risk assessment as well as operation and maintenance optimisation of main pipelines for the smooth operation of PIM IS will be created. Methodological manuals regarding the creation of risk assessment algorithms, the specification of risk management measures, the assessment of threat impact and likelihood reduction measures, and the creation of bowtie diagrams will be drafted.

The value of the agreement exceeds EUR 900,000 without VAT; it is planned that all works will be completed by 31 December 2018.

The project is implemented by using the investments of EU funds (2014 – 2020).

Installation of DVOR-DME Radio Navigation System in the Air Base of the LAF in Šiauliai

03-Jan-2017. Elsis TS and the Lithuanian Armed Forces signed an agreement on the installation of the Doppler Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Range – Distance Measurement Equipment (DVOR-DME) in the territory of Airbase of the Air Force of the Lithuanian Armed Forces located in the international Šiauliai airport.

The main purpose of the project is to replace the old equipment of the very high frequency radio beacon and ultra-high frequency rangefinder by a new modern equipment and ensure its compliance with all types of requirements set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), European Organization for Civil Aviation Equipment (EUROCAE), the European Parliament and the Council and other local and international regulations. In addition, equipment for remote management and control of the DVOR-DME system will be installed and other activities necessary for the full functioning of the system, i.e. communication networks, antenna counterbalance reconstruction, will be carried out.

The DVOR-DME system is used for the following navigation purposes:

  • Orientation and identification of the aircraft’s bearing, distance and location;
  • As supporting orientation for radio-navigation – for holding or manoeuvring;
  • Approaching aircraft’s landing access points.

The project worth more than EUR 746,000 excluding VAT will be completed before 31 December 2017.
