Subcontract for Baltic Connector Onshore Gas Pipeline Automation Works

10-06-2019. Elsis TS has signed a subcontract agreement with a consortium represented by EG Ehitus AS, Scanweld AS and Alvora UAB for the construction of the automation system for the Baltic Connector gas pipeline on the Estonian side.

“The Baltic Connector project is being jointly implemented by Baltic Connector Oy of Finland and the Estonian gas transmission system operator Elering AS. “Baltic Connector is a gas pipeline link between Finland and Estonia that will connect the Finnish gas market to the Baltic network and gas storage in Latvia, and through the Baltic States to the European common energy market.

“The Baltic Connector consists of a 21 km onshore section in Finland, a 77 km offshore section between Inkoo in Finland and Paldiski in Estonia and a 55 km onshore section in Estonia.

The contract will include the automation of the Gas Reduction Station (GRS), the Linear Shutoff Stations (LSS) and the Start-Up and Receiving Stations (PS) of the onshore part of the Baltic Connector Estonia.

The project will contribute to the construction of the Baltic Connector bi-directional natural gas pipeline between the Finnish and the Estonian part of the Baltic Connector, which connects the Kiili-Paldiski DN700 MOP54 pipeline.

The contract value exceeds €750,000 and the work is scheduled to be completed in phases by 20 September 2019.
